Thermal Belt Outreach, founded in 1991, is an incorporated, nonprofit social service agency serving Polk County, North Carolina. We provide basic needs such as: food, utilities, fuel, rent, transportation, prescriptions, affordable housing, dental services; and access to health care.

Outreach concentrates on assisting people in crisis situations. Each client is treated with understanding and compassion. Many people, in a time of need, feel alone and without hope, or are embarrassed to reach out for help. The staff and more than 130 volunteers assure them that help is at hand, despite the pressures they face.

The mission of Thermal Belt Outreach is to provide the structure and opportunity for a compassionate community partnership of churches, agencies and individuals that identifies critical needs of people in our community and ministers to the immediate needs of families and individuals with dignity and respect, encouraging independence and enhanced quality of life. 

Our office hours are 9:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
