Thermal Belt OUTREACH focuses on helping people out of crisis situations and into self-sufficiency. We provide basic needs such as food, utilities, fuel, transportation, prescriptions, affordable housing, dental service, and access to health care to those in need in Polk County.

OUTREACH is an independent nonprofit organization.  It receives no local, state or federal funds for its ongoing operations. Its budget and services are determined by the donations it receives through individuals, organizations, businesses, churches and granting agencies.

Each person assisted is expected to pay a small portion of the bill for which they are seeking help.  No funds are given to the clients.

OUTREACH receives wide community support and recognition.  Many of our clients come to us because someone in the community has told them that we can help.

A staff of nine and more than 130 volunteers work in a variety of jobs to daily meet the needs of the low-income families and individuals in Polk County.

Each year more than 4,000 individuals receive supportive services and counseling from OUTREACH.

We continue to build our community involvement - growing our services to respond to the needs of the people we serve.
