Thermal Belt Outreach offers a variety of programs to assist our clients. Outreach administers some of these programs for outside agencies. Here is a listing of special programs Outreach is offering:
- Administers Share the Warmth Heating and Duke Cooling Assistance
- Partners with Ashley Meadows affordable housing
- Provides emergency packages for Meals-On-Wheels
- Coordinates with area church home repair teams through TBO Home repair Program
- Partners with Rutherford-Polk-McDowell District Health Department to provide child friendly dental care through Collins Dental Center
- Works with local agencies on unmet needs such as transportation, health care and mental health for those not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
- Works closely with DSS on all programs relating to our clients.
- Provides meeting space for local agencies
- Conducts Health Fairs and screening programs for our clients
- Assists clients with cost of prescriptions.
- Thanksgiving and Christmas food packages and gifts distributed for eligible clients.
- Back to school supplies and backpacks distributed to eligible students.
- Gives books to eligible children through Children’s Library Book Program.
- Feed-A-Kid. a program designed to feed Polk County children on the week-end.
- Develops educational and vocational training classes for clients including individualized budget counseling, GED classes, and job readiness
- Provides firewood to assist clients with the cost of heating their homes.
